It's been a week since my Goldilocks Mastectomy operation, and I think it went pretty well. I spent one night in the hospital, but only needed a bit of pain medication in the recovery room, and then only needed Advil and then Tylenol since then. I'm completely satisfied with the "Baby Bear" booblets that I have after the operation. One of my favourite shirts (photo on the left) now fits me properly, and I have dispensed with all my bras in favour of a very nice soft cami (photo on the right) - very comfy! Today I went shopping for some new shirts and I could buy one size smaller than before (although still a plus size from one of the "fat lady stores").

I am so glad that you sought out this option over an "amputated" mastectomy! Your surgeon is clearly compassionate and I am impressed that you have taken on the task of investigating all options for your care. Not very many patients would take on the task of considering a new procedure with such dedication and organization. I hope other women in Canada will benefit from your thorough investigation!

I'm impressed by your research and the results! Are you still happy? My surgeon offhandedly mentioned this as a possibility for me and there is very little - practically nothing - on the web except for your site. Just seems like if it works it would have more extensive references so i'm a little confused. Thank you!!

I just had the goldilocks mastectomy and I am very happy. I was my surgeon's first patient to have this procedure. I am 4 weeks post op and I am still in the healing process. I am also diabetic so this was a perfect surgery for me. Thank you for sharing.
